Installation of 32 bit SQL instance caused existing 64 bit SRS to fail

Hi -

I need some help. We had an existing SQL instance 64 bit configured correctly for SQL reporting services.

Someone actually installed a new instance of SQL on the box - 32 bit instance - and decided to install SRS again too.

Well, we started to experience all sorts of issues. We did some research and saw that there are incapatibilities with having asp on one machine for 32 and 64 bit so we disabled the 32 bit and got a little closer...we think.

Now, when we try to view reports we get reporting page but error "Unable to connect to the remote server." Also when we try to go to the reportserver page, we get the 403 forbidden error.

Any ideas? Looks like everything looks ok but it isnt working and we need some ideas of where to look for troubleshooting. Please advise of any ideas.

Thanks.

I'd start with the basics. Make sure that IIS is setup correctly to show the files.

Have you run through the SSRS config tool to make sure that it shows that everything shows as setup correctly?

Hi - yes, I have. The config tool shows all green arrows and is ok. IIS appears to be working and set up fine. At this point, we may just uninstall and reinstall since we cannot seem to locate the issue.

I would start with IIS, but it sounds like you may be having DLL conflict issues. Completely uninstall and try a fresh reinstall afterwards is probably your best bet.
