Hi,

Do any features or roles have to be enabled to install SQL 2005 Ent on a Windows 2008 Ent 64bit server? We're going to do it today and could not find where to enable DTC Access or Com + Access.

thanks

The pre-req checker should tell you if something isn't there (ie IIS components etc).

The real world is not about exam scores, it's about ability.

Thanks for the quick reply, but we didn't plan on installing IIS, or is it needed?

No. Simon wasn't saying that IIS is required. What he was saying was that if there was a role or feature missing the pre-requisite checker that runs before the installation will tell you about it. He mentioned IIS only as an example.

However it does depend on whether you are installing reporting services. You may well find that you have to install certain features\roles before successfully installing SQL.
