I've been handed a Dell Power Edge 830 (1GB RAM, 2 36 GB SCSI Ultra 320's, and a 1 channel U320 SCSI adapter.

When I try to load SCO (5.0.4) it complains about not finding the hard drives.

Has anyone loaded SCO on such a beast?
Guessing I also need help identifying SCSI device locations and proper drivers?

Dell has downloadable drivers for their PERC controllers. The last one I recall using was the "amird" driver for SCO 5.0.7. That version you have (5.0.4) is quite old.

I just searched on their support site for drivers and found PERC/4 and PERC/2 available for download. See which would best apply to your PE830.

If that box has a P4, there are some important reasons to upgrade to a newer release of SCO. You could damage the processor.

You have to use the mechanizm of BTLD - boot time loadable drivers. Prepared FD with driver, look in box of server for drivers CD or ftp site of manufacturer. Look for needed commands to boot: in documentation
