Hi

Am trying to install oracle 9i into my notebook with

OS : WIN2000
RAM : 196MB
Virtual Mem: 200-400MB
H/D : 3G

At the stage when reached Installation Types quoting :
1. Enterprise Edition
2. Standard
3. Personal etc...

The error pop-up saying:
The system does not meet the following requirement for installing Oracle 9i Database:
The system requires Service Pack 1 or higher

I have checked my download package and OS, both are alright. Still I hit error. Please advise.
Thank you.

Hi,

As far as I remember from install-docu, you should have a minimum of 256 MB RAM.
I wouldn't call the system robust below 512 MB.

Even so it would just start, wiht low memory you may see error-messages, which send you in wrong directions.

hope it helps LaoDe
