Hi,

We want to link an Asterisk to our NEC IPS (version 3900). We found a SIP to ISDN gateway (Mediatrix 3532).
I need to add a PRI card but I'm not sure which one and where I can install it. There are many versions and I can only find used PN-24DTA.

Here are my options so far:

Option 1:

1x PN-24DTA-C
1x PN-SC01

Option 2:

PN-DTA (DCH handler builtin, no SC01 needed am I right?)

I have found this note from the ISDN System manual :

Mount DTI card in the AP slots (AP0-AP6).
Mount DCH card in the AP slots (AP0-AP8).

The note from the IPS System manual :

When using IP-PAD (PN-8IPLA) card with 32-channel Required slots: LT00/LT04 and three adjoining slots (LT01/LT02/LT03, LT05/LT06/LT07) Only AP cards are mountable in LT01/LT02/LT03, LT05/LT06/LT07.
So AP05-AP06-AP07 cannot be used when using 32 channels.

It could be a problem to install the PRI card because there's a 8IPLA in slot 04 with 32 channels.
I don't mind swapping all the Line cards in PIM1 and put the 8IPLA in AP0 of PIM 0.

What will I have to change in programming to move the 8IPLA to slot 00?
Can I use the 24DTA-C card?

Here is a list of my cards in PIM 0:

This is our phone system diagram:

Thank you

you seem to be missing the fact that the ISDN card is an AP card and as such doesn't count the same as other cards (TDM).

It also fits in slots not used by TDM cards (so 08 onwards (however bear in mind that the first ISDN set needs to be in Pim 0) for clocking reasons. This assumes you don't already have any other ISDN cards

So I could put the 24DTA in AP08 and the SC01 in AP09 then...

Option 2 is a better choice. The DTA (PRI) without the SC-01 card. It's newer, with a later flash loaded and it requires only 1 AP card slot.

Yes I agree but I cannot find the card anywhere...Too bad.

Thank you for your help. I will try to find one.
Should I program the card as a CO or Tie line? I'm not sure.

Wow! that's a really nice website, I'm always looking for good info for the NEC.
Thanx a lot I really appreciate it.

is not accessible anymore.
I'm glad I saved all the info from the website before it went down.

Ok, have successfully installed the 24DTA-C and the SC01 cards. I can call from the asterisk to all 3 NEC PBX. I can also call from PBX #3 to the asterisk.
However I'm stuck with LCR in the main site PBX#1.

I did the following LCR in PBX#3:

200>7:A129- (LCR Group No. 3)
8AA000>0:4000- Development patern for LCR group 0
8A4007>7:0015- Assign 7 to development pattern and route pattern
8A0015>1:01515- Assign trunk route to route pattern
857>7:05- Max 5 digits
8A5015>151:1- Delete 1st digit (7 in our case)
8A5015>100:9001- Digit Addition Pattern 1

It went ok considering it's my first attempt to LCR.

Now I wanted to do the same in PBX#1 but it gives me this:

200>7:724-A129
ASSIGNED ALREADY

I'm clueless. What is this 724 number? I cannot find it anywhere in command 200.

How do I change this?

7XX means that not enough digits were input. In other words, you have a code 7X or 7XX already set up. Go back to 200 and try 70 to see if the digit 7 was broken out to more digits for some feature that may be used. Or try 700, etc.

You're right I had alot of code already set up. But now my problem is this:

857>7:00-05
ASSIGNED ALREADY

Matworx gives me a Short of in the max digit column.

I just messed up my system. Unable to call outside anymore...
I did a reset of the PBX without saving to fix it.
I had this:

200>70:A086-

I wonder if that had anything to do with it...

A086 is for authorization codes. If they are required then you must dial the auth. code before dialing your outside number.
857 is maximum digits dialed for LCR pattern 7 which is used for CCIS networking. 00 means that the digits are broken out to more than just the 7. Try 70.

Thanks a lot for your help, I deleted the codes and everything is working now!
I can call the Asterisk from all PBX now.
