Hi all,

New on windows.....world.
I've to install a network printer attached on the ethrnet network. The printserver (win2003) is already working.
I've got the ip address the printer should have and "they" said to me I have to define a new port.
If I follow the wizard to install the network printer I do not find any port to configure.
What the problem ? Could someone help to configure the printer ?
thanks
azzurri

From memory these should be the options to follow.

Configure printer Wizard - Local Printer attached to this computer - Click 'Create new port' radio button - Standard TCP/IP port - Enter the Printername (if it has a DNS entry if not enter the IP) - Now it should ask you for the drivers then finish.

Oh and near the end it will ask you for a sharename, enter the name that you want your users to see when they connect (i use a location specific name).

Just one thing... Make sure when you select Local printer attached to this computer to uncheck "Automatically find blah blah
