I have searched from internet. How to install HDA Realtek codec (ALC 662) driver for Windows XP SP2.I should install patch from Microsoft.
The patch is KB888111.exe and installed HDA Realtek codec driver for Windows XP SP2.
Rebooted after installed HDA Realtek Codec driver but HDA Realtek codec driver didn't load it. Because I checked from control panel --> sound --> can't see HDA Realtek Codec driver there.
And I have tried to install HDA Realtek Codec driver from Add New Hardware, but didn't work too.I installed linux and sound is working fine.
Any suggestion/solution about this problem...:)
Thanks

Will it work?"

That's what we all ask every time we attempt to fix something. There is only one way to find out. At least if you create a System restore point, and if it doesn't work you can reverse back out after changing the Bios once more.

Will it work - one short answer: NO...

why: because XP was installed using IDE mode, and installed parameters for IDE boot not for SATA boot...

can this be changed: YES...

read:

HOWTO: enable AHCI mode after installing Windows

should you attempt it: Probably NOT, if you are unsure of Registry editing, injecting drivers, etc. then DEFINITELY NO!!!

also does it bring any speed improvement: NOT with XP...

you ask why then the LINK above on how to: because messing up the OS, is the surest way to to LEARN about your machine...

You are right. I can't install AHCI Intel on Windows XP SP3 and got error messages "....more memory requirement"
Because I have installed WinXP SP2. After I installed SP3. All SATA driver disappeared.
Thanks.
