Hi i was owndering if anyone can hel me
I have paint shop pro 7 nad have been using it successfully for quite a while now. My problem is when i insert text i am getting prompted with different way than i am used to. I now get prompted with what looks like a insert text dialogue box where i have lots of options which i have never seen before. And when i click ok i get my text in the window with little anchors in the corner, but when i resize the text it goes out of proportion, i dont know what has changed on the pc, but is there anyway of reverting my settings back?

I hope this makes sense

Anna

What you see it the "normal" method of placing text. I don't know of any other way to place text on an image. The "text option" box allows you to change the font size, color, kerning, and line spacing, as well as whether the text should be dithered, shown as a selection, or as a vector object.

You might want to have a look at the HELP contents for more information.

There's always a better way. The fun is trying to find it!

Hi
I have some more information which may shine more light on the subject. After i have typed the text in the main screen when i press ok, it insers the text as a floating selection i.e i can move it around the screen. However all of the three options do not allow me to modify the text as i was doing before. I used to get my text placed on the blank page and the text was flashing, i could select anywhere in the text and move it, i could also resize it. The only option which allows me to resize is the vector option, but i never used to see the anchor points in the corner, does this make sense. I am using the vector option at the moment, but do you have any ideas?

Thanks
Anna

Anna,

I've been using PSP ever since Version7 came out a few years ago. I've never seen any other method to place text than what I've shown.

With the vector method, you can place the text anywhere by either dragging it or using CTRL and the arrow keys to move the text. While the text is still in the "vector" mode, you can go back and change it by placing the cursor over a character and clicking the left mouse button. However, once you have "rasterized" the text, you can't change it.

There's always a better way. The fun is trying to find it!
