Inserting Pause on speed dial

I have An IP Office 8.1 with 9608 phones and PRI. The user has to dial an Authorization Code when making an outside call. The Authorization code is set by Telco. Some users want to forward their phones to their Cell phones. As far as I can see the users dose not have the option to insert pause on the 9608 sets. I have read in other posts about creating a short codes and entering comma for pause. I have created a short code:

Dial

1-xxx-xxx-xxxx,,,,yyyy (Y for the authorization code)

When I forward the set to the short code, the call does not get thru. And when I dial the short code the carrier will just ask to enter the Authorization code. It seems like the system does not send anything after the commas, and I have tried 1 comma, 2 commas, and so on. Any ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
 
let them dial * when they enter the phone number for pauses or you can use other settings in the shortcode to send the dtmf after connection with the line provider.
press help when you have the shortcode open and see all the options you have.

Try making your shortcode 1NDyyyy the D makes it wait and then sends the yyyy as auth code.

Thanks Westi for the reply. I did try the 1NDyyyy, and 1NYyyyy. The system will send the Number and the authorization code without pausing, just like if the D or the Y are not there. Thanks again.
 
darn auth codes, see if there is maybe a caller ID you could send that doesn't require the auth code on the trunk and that way you could just send the different caller ID and be done with it.

Drop a trace here with default setting, add shortcodes to the call filter and enable ISDN filter.
I am curious because I have done this in the past a lot, nowadays we don't have this kind of sh*t any more. There are better mechanisms for that like CLI routing or automatic rerouting enabled by the provider.

A simple mind delivers great solutions
 
Indeed, try and find a provider that isnt stuck in the late 80s/early 90s, or do it on the system :)

I always liked the account codes from line providers because it was one less thing to program.
But if they cause problems then it is painful.

Here is what i got from the Monitor program dialing the short code and then dialing the DID number. The short code is 87 and the set is 8380. Thanks again.

Maybe this will work for you....

We have a real estate agency, the users want to forward to their cell phones when not in the office, or as virtual agents, just have a user and no physical phone.

The phone company supplies the account codes, which must be entered on long distance calls. If dialing manually, you dial the number, wait for a 2nd dial tone from the telco, and then dial your personal account code.

We had to make a User Short Code if the agent's cell phone was long distance from the office.

If the agent's cell phone is 555-1212, and their account code is 1234, we make a User short code of

I see a call coming in for 8380 (PhnRoom) from 6305234193 on Line 9 Channel which ends up in VoiceMail but I don't see extension 8380 dialling anything.
