Is there a way on a Majix to insert a # at the end of every number dialled through ARS? I'm trying to overcome the delay a customer is having after switching providers. If I dial a # after dialling the number there is no delay. I'm a little afraid to change the end of dial timer for fear people will complain of wave-offs. Any suggestions? Thanks, Bill

Tell the users to press # after punching up the number, that is the simplest and least expensive way to do it! No programming changes needed!

Thanks for the suggestion Jim. I called my customer to let her know that a # will send immediately, but we still want to find a solution that is transparent to the user. I thought I had read in another post here where someone referenced putting a pound at the end using an ARS table, if this is possible then that is what I want to do. After looking all over Avayas support, the instructions for ARS are eluding me.......... :(

So if anyone know how to do this or where I can find the instructions I would be grateful!

Thanks, Bill

Because of the nature of senderized switches, I don't think that is possible, but you can look it up and read about ARS in the Feature Reference Guide document for the Legend/Magix. You can download it from support.avaya.com for free. Some searching on the forum may provide a more exact answer also, as this subject has been discussed a few times in the past in relation to PRIMARY ISDN service.

I don't have a legeng to play with here but...

It is not that you need a # at the end in the ARS, It is that the number should be sent after 10 or 11 digits are dialed.

What I have found is that if you need to send a star, splat or whatever you wanna call it, simply send "11" and break the need across the backs of the carrier. Same thing with hash or poundsign.

From what I gather he is not trying to send the #, he is trying to speed up the call setup and not not need to dial a # to send the digits.

He could probably play with the inter-digit timers.
