Hi,

Is there a way of inserting a date that keeps itself up to date automatically in a custom format?

I want to put 'February 2006' in the footer but the closest it has is '22 February 2006'.

Thanks very much

Ed

What version of PowerPoint?

In PP2002, click View, Header and Footer.

Then in the Slide tab select Date and Time and check Update Automatically. In my list of format options there's a 'February 06' which is a little closer to what you want.

Hi,

Using PP2002. Have done this although the user is very keen that the date is shown with the year in full eg 2006 not 06.

Would I have to muck about with the Script Editor and change the XML or something?

Thanks

Hmm. I created a PP macro to have a look at what actually happens when you set the footer date like this. Here's a snippet of the VBA that was created:
Code:
.
.
.
With ActivePresentation.TitleMaster.HeadersFooters
    With .DateAndTime
        .Format = "ppDateTimeMMMMyy"
.
.
.
So it seems there are only a number of PowerPoint date formats that can be used in this way - I've tried experimenting with others but it doesn't seem to want to work.
