How does one insert a .JPG picture image into Autocad file?

thanx in advance

type image at the command prompt, then you should be able to select the jpg file and insert it as you would a block.

you can go to Insert->OLE Object
this opens a dialog box, and in here you want to select,
Create From File, then browse to the .jpeg.
also uncheck both boxes for 'Link' and 'display as icon'
obviously you dont want to do either of those!!!
then say OK to the next window, unless you want to change the scale or anything.

You can also copy and paste. Open what ever you use for imaging and copy the file, (as it is open) then go to CAD and right click and paste....again hit OK to the next window....

hope this helps! Jay~

Yeah KeyTech

I tried that one yesterday before this post and didnt get it to work, but after you mentioned it I gave it a second try and it worked. So you see, you can do wonders

By the way, if Ratio's trick can be made to work, I expect both of you to chip in further.

I think the browse button might not be available until you hit the 'Attach' button which should be available??????
Or maybe its the version of cad you have, is it an Lt version of 2000??? Jay~
