Insert dummy row in list ,cross tab report

Hi ,

I have report like the following

dept name Jan Feb Mar ..... Dec

IT -- -- -- --
Finance
AUTO
Manufactu..

Here i would like to insert row between Finance and
Auto dept name and all the column values are o or null .
I am using cognos 6 series .. this i wanted to implemnet in
both list and cross tab reports

I'm afraid this is not possible, because impromptu is column based and displays only info from your database in the rows. As you probably noticed is it possible to add a column to your report "insert-calculation" point a position in your table and select value in your calculation box. Select string for null or number for 0.

and click OK than you'll see this value in a cloumn for every row.

Suppose if add dept name in the database level ,then report will pick it up randomly and it displays some where else . is there any way i could sort that row wherever i needed in the report .Could please help me out .
