I encountered an insane problem in Access: when you enter the text 'HDA' in a table text-field it automatically gets converted to 'HAD' when you leave the field. Access does not accept the string 'HDA'. I checked, and this happens in Access as well as Excel. It happens in Access 97 as well as in Access 2000, and it happens under W98 as well as W2K. I'm desperate, since 'HDA' is one of my client's Key Master Data and really should be entered in a critical system. Anyone know what might be going on here.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

thanks!

I just discovered the solution, which was remarkably simple: in the list of autocorrects, the string HDA is automatically replaced by HAD. By deleting this entry, the problem was solved...

Excellent advice Gransbpa.

For those that dont know how to do this, in Excel or Word, click Tools menu. Then AutoCorrect.

On the default tab, scroll down the list, click the entry you would like to prevent from Auto Correcting and click the Remove buton.

Regards,
John.
