I have an 11 digit number 645-21-71-9939 that I am trying to enter into a table. I used 000\-00\-00\-0000 as my input mask and I am getting an error message that says, The value you have entered isn't valid for this field. It's not because I have enter text into an numeric field. I think it could either be that my syntax is wrong or I don't have the correct field size, or the fact that I am a beginner.

could someone please help.

Antonio

Hi,

Better to use Text as data type that will allow you to do any kinds of masking on your database. You can use Number data type with Double, but thats not goos way to store masking value into nnumber format.

Hope this helps... :)
