Input Mask

Hope someone can suggest a way of how to go about this situation:

I have a Proforma Sub Form that has a Proforma No with input mask "PI"00/000;0 and then on the Proforma Form there is a combo box, used as a Search Facility for Proformas, having the same input mask "PI"00/000;0

The problem is that I would like that the user when he wants he can enter as well letters that is for example : PI00/000SUP. But obviously now if I change both input masks on Form and Sub Form, the other Proformas No stored as "PI"00/000;0 will not be compatible and thus will not allow me to search..

Any suggestions?!

Just for your information:

A Proforma is like a quotation, before issuing the actual Order and confirmed by the customer

genomon's sig is a pun.

"Then it hit me" is an expression commonly used when an answer comes unexpectedly to a person.

For instance, one might say, "I was working on a problem all day and had given up on finding the answer then it hit me."

So, here, the answer to the question "Why is the baseball getting bigger" figuratively "hit him" when the baseball literally hit him.

I still doesn't understand why he said No to my Hit By Pitch ? (unless he thought it was my answer to Proforma...)
