Have a web site that is no longer working after SP2 upgrade to XP. The site has a field (graphics field I believe--input field with a browse button) that is used for designating a link to a different web page or file.

Before the SP2 upgrade the user was able to paste in web links (http:...) and update the database. After the SP2 upgrade the page will not process unless the input field (text field with the browse button) starts with // (like an explicit file reference).

Any ideas if this is a setting in I.E. that needs to be changed or just a new "undocumented feature" of XP?

Thanks,
MH

I'm not clear about the question... Is this an issue with the browser on XP SP2 or do you have IIS running an ASP app under XP ?

The application in question is a website running on a windows 2000 server. The problem we are experiencing happened after an XP SP2 upgrade on PCs used to access this website.

After the upgrade they were no longer able to process transactions when entering anything in the "browse" field that did not start with a "//". When I say no longer able to process I mean nothing would happen when the Add or Update buttons were clicked (and a value in the "browse" field did not start with "//").

My thought is there may be a setting in IE that we could possibly set to allow the program to operate as it did before the upgrade.

Hope this helps.
