Initialisation process stopped

Hi,
The initialisation process stopped at :
INIT : Version 2.84 booting
After mounting and creating phases and just after "Freeing unused kernel memory : 212 freed.
What could be the cause ? /etc/inittab ?

I know it's some typing since cut and paste is not an option, but can you try to reproduce the last serveral lines leading up to the hang. I haven't memorized the boot messages and I don't feel like rebooting my RH9 box to see them.
