Informix, Linux and -952 ( incorrect password ) 1

I'm having problem with an Informix SE 7.24 and a RedHat Linux 6.2! Informix on server is working correctly, but when i try to connect with the DBPing ( provided with the Informix Client SDK v2.50 ) it's giving out the error -952
( incorrect password ) while, as you can imagine, the used password is correct. Now: they say that informix should use the /etc/shadow file. Is it true ?

I was using an informix version with this bug!!
The current one doesn't have this problem.

I'm having the same problem with Informix 7.1 and Linux RedHat 7.

I've just upgraded the server. I had the .UC5 version and i upgraded to .UC8.

Let me know it this is enough!

Where did you get UC8? Is that a version you have to purchase because AFAIK the latest version free to download is UC5.
