Informix IDS 7.31 replication

Hi,
How well does the Informix Enterprise Replication tool work? I need to replicate potentially millions of records every month (informix -> informix) and need a stable replication mechanism.
I run Informix IDS 7.21 on HP-UX.

Are there any third party tools that handle this well? What about OminiReplicator from Praxis? Does it support Informix?
Is there any other replication mechanism available? I was thinking of using db trigger based MQ queue for asynch replication but I am worried about performance.
What about the DataPropogator from IBM?
Any suggestions will be hugely helpful .....

I'm running On-line 7.31 UC under Solaris 7. As a DBA for a world-wide database enterprise, Enterprise Replication has saved me more than once.

I'd don't know if you're aware, but ER backs up the total database - not just "millions of rows". There's a significant investment in hardware and a fairly steep learning curve:

1) In addition to the primary server, you'll require a seconday server which is exact copy of the primary.

2) You'll need a DBA familiar with the process. The Guide to Informix Enterprise Replication tells you everything you need to know.

HI,

Version 7.21 has a lot of CDRs Bugs

Install a least 7.3 or 9.3. Both releases brings a lot of BUG Fixes and CDR enhancements.
Informix CDR was design to capture DB modifications Through "Logical Logs Sniffing Mechanism"
(CDR - Continous Data Replication).


By the Way, Praxis Omni Replicator supports Informix but the DB modifications are done by SP and Triggers.
