Informix error 908 - 25555

Hi all Informix Experts,

I'm getting a hard time in figuring out what is the cause of error 908. I've already set the reuqired parameters but still no change.

/informix/etc/sqlhosts

PATS1 ontlitcp server_name infport1 # Informix port1
PATS2 ontlitcp server_name infport2 # Informix port2


/etc/services
infport1 9000/tcp # Informix port1
infport2 9001/tcp # Informix port2

I'm trying to create a synonym table from the PATS1 tables to PATS2 but i always get this error.

Can you help me please???????????????????????

different informix servers are completely independent, so they have no idea how to link to table on other server (but clientside can use tables from both servers), i think DR (not HDR) can help - but it is very (maybee too) complex to implement

Hi,

We used to run two distinct IDS 7.3x instances and insert data from one to the other via synonyms. Syntax, I believe, is:-

CREATE SYNONYM syn_name FOR remote_db@server_name:tab_name
