We are in the very 1st stages of a company merger where it's likely that we will aquire another 400 seat call centre. As this is early stages I'm after ideas as to what hardware we could use for this new site. We currently have an S8700 in our main offices and 7 x G700 with LSP's at our remote offices. It is understood at this stage that we will run as 2 separate companies so will need separate attendants, MOH etc.
Initially I thought another G700 would suffice but I'm told that they currently have 5 x ISDN30's in this existing building - can a G700 handle this?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks
Lee

You might be pushing it with a G700 for a 400 seat call center since a G700 with an S8300 media server can support up to 450 extensions. It can also support up to 450 trunks.
Simultaneous calls will be the thing to look at since the built in VoIP engine can handle up to 64 G.711 calls and you can add one more to VoIP compression module for an additional 64 channels.

I might consider an S8500 or S87xx platform with a G650 gateway for this.

Programming ths system to have seperate attendants, MOH, etc shouldn't be an issue by using tenanting.

TykeUK,

What is currently running in the existing 400 seat site that you are acquiring? If it is an older G3 you may be able to convert it to an 8500.

It's currently an old BT meridian which they are keen to replace.
400 agents is the max that they can seat so a G700 should suffice with an extra VOIP compression module. How does the G700 support 450 trunks though? My assumption is that as they have 5 separate isdn30's they would need 5 DS1 cards, and a G700 only has space for a total of 5 so there would be no solts left for everything else?

You can stack up to 10 G700 gateways off of a single S8300 server.
