What specifically do you need to know about MLS ? Before I left Oracle, some 3 months ago, I was working predominantly with NLS and MLS in the Applications test centre which was responsible for testing applications translations.

If you let me know what specific questions you have I will see what I can do to answer them.

Otherwise, you could check out the Oracle Metalink web site, if you have access to that, as there are some articles there, I know, I wrote some of them !

I am unable to get Thai fonts to work with Oracle Forms. They are OK in the browser, but in ora apps we cannot get the fonts to display. Does anyone have any advice?

You need to check the Oracle Apps installation manual to see which character set that you should be using.
Once you have noted this, make sure that your database is the correct character set. Then check that the NLS_LANG variable is set appropriately for Thai with the correct character set. This is important that it is done before the forms server processes etc are started.

Check also that you are using the correct character set resource file for Forms.

hi
we are using java for our front end and oracle as the database. we store all of our data in english but for some of the fields we need taiwan-chinese language support for oracle. ie. we need to store data for some columns in some tables in taiwan-chinese.

from my understanding if we use NLS we can either store all data in chinese or all data in english. but in our case ... we need multiple language support. can any one give me any pointers ... on where to get infor ... or on what parameters to set...

I think it would have something to do with MLS... but I cant find any such parameter in the installation file.

we use HP9000 series server with HP10.2 system and we have oracle 8.0.5 installed.

any help is highly appreciated.

Anything specifically that you want to know ?
You can look on Oracle's Metalink web site, this has some useful MLS articles.
Alternatively if you have any specific questions, let me know and I will see if I can answer them. Jeremy Webb.
