Is there functionality in Avaya's embedded voicemail to support "information mailboxes". Current using IP Office v7.0. In the auto attendant that has been created, I want to have as an option, press 6 to hear our daily lunch specials.

Thanks

Sure, create a new AA, have 6 transfer to that AA, customer can record the specials from any phone by dialing *840X. On the new AA have 1 repeat the lunch specials and any other key return to the main AA.

or create a dummy extn forwared to mailbox.

set the mailbox not to leave a message.

so when 6 is pressed its transfered to the extns mailbox
You will get about 2 bursts of ringing first before the mailbox answers.

then you can dial the short code *99( or whatever code you use for mailboxes) followed by mailbox number to record greeting

Thanks a million for your replies. After spending several hours researching and trying to come up with a solution on my own, your responses enabled me to solve this problem in a snap. I am very grateful.
