Info going to 2 different tables from the same form

I need to have one of my fields stored in a different table than data from the rest of the field. How can this be accomplished? I get errors when i try to do this...any help is appreciated.

Don't feel too bad, I've programmed extensively in SQL server and CF and I just asked the same question!
