Infinite DHCP Leases

Im setting up a second DHCP server. The first one has infinite leases. If I dont want to have infinite leases on either machine, do I have to delete the scope and rebuild it on server1 and then split the new scope with server2?

When talking about infinite leases are you talking about the lease time or... ?
