Has anyone used the Infinistream product? Any reviews.

We are currently demoing it. I really like it so far. I can go back 5 days to find an outage. I also would like to hear from users who have had it awhile.

i checked out that niksun site. imho they did not get past the first 3 paragraphs of the summary on the front page. i mean, they first talk briefly about some bad things that can happen 'in the blink of an eye' that compromises data. then they go on to talk about how you can view events from hours, days and weeks ago, and that it will alert you to a problem or intrusion occurring. we all know an intrusion can be 'in and out' in the blink of an eye. i need something that will STOP the attack, not tell me it happened.

@jdel

Infinstream is a Security Forensics tool, not and ips.
The there is a new product coming out called Infinistream Network Management. Which combines a Sniffer and Infinistream :)

If you need something to STOP attacks there is a good NAI IDS/IPS product called Intrushield:

I have seen a demo of the new Network Management and Analysis platform now being offered in the Inifinistream product. It was just a playback demo - we were not looking at live network traffic but it was impressive. Very intuitive interface and easy to dial in / select the time slice you're looking for. The solution was actually develped by the guys in Utah who originally developed Novell (so I'm told).

Two things that really impressed me:

1) Shows the traffic to and from every single port - not just "known" ports and "others". You can set a filter instantly for any port. Great for tracking virus and worm activity.

2) Pick your time slice and click an "Analyze Now" button and it exports the file to Sniffer pro - immediately opens up in the Expert window. Very cool.
