Exch 2000, Win2K installation. Acting as a forwarding Exch server.
Problem – inetinfo is opening up hundreds of high TCP ports and listening on them.
In the process it grabs all physical and virtual memory, allocating to itself around 2Gb. Once all the memory is committed the Exchange and IIS related services all fail.
Win2K automatically launches the services again and the cycle repeats. Cycle time is approximately 15 minutes thought sometimes the system will stay up for an hour.
There are no error messages or log entries that appear relevant.
Anyone seen anything like this before?
Thanks
