Here what we have:

Legato Networker Administrator 6.0.0 on Linux RedHat 6.2

Legato Networker Client 6.0.0 on NT 4.0 with SP6 with a RAID5

Networker on Linux is actually backing up the NT Client because we can see the file growing bigger and bigger but for that specific client there is no index for it. Basicaly, there is something on the cartrige but we cannot restore it since it doesn't associate any indexes with the NT Client.

We did a lots of Lab tests. NT Client on an NT machine (Workstation and Server). The tests were concluding; everything works fine.

We uninstalled the NT Client on the NT machine by using the ADD/REMOVE Program under the control panel settings + we even use RegCleaner (program) to remove everything related to that application (Networker)... The results were the same; it can that a backup of the machine but we cannot restore anything to it!

We tried Legato's site: we have to pay for support!
We also tried other forums, Yahoo, etc...

Please if you have any ideas!!!

Thanks in advance...

Linux uses host files correct? It sounds as if you may have to edit the hosts file on the NT machine in order to have this function correctly. I had a similar experience with NT 4.0 to a Win2K machine. The NT 4.0 Server would backup the 2000 box no problem. However, it would not restore to the 2000 box. Once I added both the 2000 host and NT 4.0 host addresses into the NT 4.0 Server, I could then backup and restore to the 2000 box.

Good luck,

CF

We had to re-install everything... The indexes were corrupted!!!
