I know this is the IPO forum, but I don't see a forum for Index stuff so its a good guess to put it here!

How can I do a divert from a phone to an external number (easy bit) that stays active once the phone has been unplugged (hard bit)

Its a bit of a phased migration at the moment, so plan was to divert numbers indvidially to new DDI on a new system. Works using the Divert button on the phone, but once you unplug the phone... it stops!

is there a short code that can be used or something?

Will

Hi
if you can log on to the system.
1 go to automatic route (12 or 14)
2 go to 6 Translation
create a new translation lets say 50
replace string (ddi) ie:654321 to (0779865432 The divert number)
escape
go to String Analysis
locate ddi number (654321) change
translation 50
If you have done INDeX programming before this will make sense
if not good luck

It does.

We'll call that Plan B, as I dont have remote access to the system.

Thanks :)

Looking at this it makes sence, but how would it work with internal extension number?

Alternatively, programe speed dial of the external number and change the user number to a pilot number and set the call control to the speed dial
1) user change to pilot number
2) programe speed dial
3) call controll plan to point to the speed dial

Mitel, Avaya, NEC, INDEX

7deedtz yours sounds like an option.

Where would I find how to change it from User to Pilot number? Cant seem to work that out.
Speed dial is ready once thats done.

Sorry. Really a bit clueless on this.

Seems the password I'm using has some limits on it.

Do I need to wait for it to time out before I can enter a differnt password? or is there another way to speed things along?

What if the modem got plugged into another serial port? would that get a new log in?

Thanks

Set the phone on divert to a speedial number and unplug it. If there is no speeddial number and you can make one then bad luck.

A simple mind delivers great solutions

You should only get locked out of a port after putting the password in worng 3 times. When locked out, this is per port, so moving to another serial port should give you another 3 goes.

Move the modem, or use any other port not in use for call logging/vm etc.

As for programming.
Find the DDI in ARS String Analysis, Use translations to send this to a pilot number, assign the pilot number to a spare Call Control Plan and put the Speed dial number required in Day Disposition 1 and delete the rest.

If the above doesn't make sense or your password doesn't give you access, honestly you probably shouldne be doing it. do you have a contract or had a contract with an Avaya Partner than can do these for you???

The company installing the new kit should have something planned for this I would think. alot of UK IP Office dealers have INDeX engineers, I know we do!!!!
