Index required for CursorAdapter update?

Hi all

Have a MySQL database used as a datastore containing n tables, none of which are indexed.

The data has been converted/imported from VFP tables. Using a VFP cursoradapter with a ODBC connection, changes are not written to the MySQL database.

One of the properties of the cursoradapter object is .KeyFieldList which has been assigned a fieldname that would be used as a primary index.

So is the lack of an index preventing updates being written to the MySQL database?

Have you tried switching on ODBC tracing to see what's been sent and recieved rom mysql.
Actualy can you give a bit more detail?, for example are you using VFP as a front end to Mysql?.
I've never used foxpro so have no idea what's going.
The indexthing is funny as you often get issues with the M$ tools wher they wont work without an index (usualy primary key) on the base table, so the VFP adapter might be looking at the table descrion (via the standard ODBC calls) and making a decision internaly rather than mysql rejecting.
Have you tried putting an index on the Mysql table so see what happens?

Yes and still no update.


An alternative is SQL Pass-through which I already use, but was curious to see how a CA would work with MySQL. They are fine with MS Sql Server, so it's easier to go with something you know and is quicker anyway.
