Hi,
I want to design indexes for an existing table. There are a lot of modifying as well as querying against the table. Can anybody suggest what strategy I adopt when it comes to creating the new indexes?

Try not to have > 6 indexes on table (unless neccissary).

Use SQL Profiler to suggest indexes. Cal

I have posted a FAQ in this forum related to this topic. Please refer to faq183-398 for more info.

Also, books-online contains a plethora of information on the topic.
