index.dat File

Wondering if there is a easy way to open up the index.dat file to see what the history of a PC is.

I open it in Notepad but it is hard to scroll and see what the history of the PC is. And can't seem to see the history unless I am logged in as that person.

I use Excel, opening as a read-only...

But I get all this garage in between. It also asks me to choose options since my file is delimited. What do you choose?

Is there anyway to get rid of the inbetween garage?

I just click Finish without selecting anything. The trash in between is just to be dealt with....
But...I just remembered, you can use this little tool:

http://www.fsm.nl/ward/

and get a printable report from your index.dat's. Chekc it out.

download "spider" you can then view everything in your index.dat files anduse spider to delete them.
