Index Character length problem

HI

I have a problem which occurs when a tagged entry which is to be indexed is cut short. for eg if i want to index the name of an organisation in my document which is quite long pagemaker cuts off the end of the name/phrase when I run the index. This means that I have to go and look for the word on the page then cut and paste it into the index. This is quite time consuming! Please help!

If the name of the organisation is used more than once in the document and has an acceptable acronym or abbreviation, why not use the shortened version after the first occurrence (where you nominate the shortened version to be used from there onwards)?
