Index backup errors, UASM Application exception occurred c0000005

Hi all,

Software levels
Networker: 6.02 (backup servers and all clients)
OS:NT4 sp6

The backups are suffering from an intermittent error, the backup of one or more Index files stalls, and will fail if left alone to timeout. When this happens a DrWatsons application error message is displayed on the Backup server. If you 'ok' the message before the Index backup fails then it usually continues and completes successfully.
I have an open call with support but so far they have been unable to find the cause or any other similar hits. This is happening on all four of the backup servers here.

Has anyone out there had any similar experience?

the Dr Watsons error is...
Application exception occurred:
App: uasm.dbg (pid=407)
When: 10/3/2002 @ 17:6:0.476
Exception number: c0000005 (access violation)

Sounds like that indes is corrupt. Try and fix it or restore an older version. Or worst case delete it and start fresh for that client.
 
The error is not restricted to one index. This happens intermittently on different indexes across four different backup servers. I have run nsrck up to level 6 on all the indexes and these all run clean.
