Hi,

I'm converting an 16 chapter book into its final PFD, its set to start each chapter on an odd page. When there is text on the even facing page preceding the new chapter it's fine, however on the pages without any text no blank page shows up in the PDF.

I believe this will cause problems for the printer. Any suggestions?

I'm using a PC and my preflight package is as follows.

Thanks.

...how are you making the pdf, to postcript then distilling to pdf?

Andrew

...if you are printing to postcript then distilling, rather than exporting directly, ensure you have 'print blank pages' enabled in the print settings...

Andrew

I've been using the Export to Book command.

(and it's indesign cs3 by the way)

...if your desperate then print to postscript instead for now, distill pdf via distiller, with blank pages enabled...

...what about if you export to pdf a troublesome individual document instead, with blank page, rather than export the whole book, same result?

Andrew

How many pages are in the book?

Can you post a screen shot of your Book Panel from CS3?

It may have been my fault. I've gone in and inserted blank pages at the end of each odd chapter, rather than relying on the 'Begin on an Odd page'. Now the PDF is coming out correct with the blank numbered pages.

Thanks for your help Andrew.
