I'm sure its easy, but I can't get enough rows on my pc screen at the same time. I can only get 30 and I need 52. How do I increase the number of viewable rows without collapsing subtasks?

What a strange request.

The smallest font size that Project will show is 8 so the first thing to do is set all your text to that size.

I was able to get 56 lines by

1. removing all button bars
2. Tools | Options | View-tab and clearing the scrollbars, entry bar and status bar check boxes.
3. Set the monitor display to 1600x1200.

As I said, a strange request.

well, you have 1600x1200. That is a strange resolution unless you have a large monitor or very good eyes. My resolution is 1024x768. A laptop. You can do the math now right? Not so stange... def a bummer... Thanks, but with my lame resolution you can't get past 34 lines... I went to the dell site and it is hard to find a laptop with 1600x1200 resolution.... You tips are great though and thanks for the help though.

I can't see where it is a strange request... Doesn't anyone want to look at an entire project or have more lines to a project than 30? About every program I use has the ability to zoom out. Even ontarget, an old win 3.1 program for project management will do it... MSProject isn't impressing me so far... Where is that Bill Gates?!!!

I can't think of an occasion when I have needed to display and (here's the critical thing) _use_ the data from 50 rows.

If you really need to see and use that much information, you'll either have to use the PgUp/PgDn keys or print out the rows and the tape the pages together.

in my case I'm producing a gif file using the photo capability of the software so I can place it on the web. A gif file is viewable by all web browsers. It is also possible to produce a pdf file of the gantt chart, but not all web browsers can view it. To get the entire chart into the gif file you have to have the complete view or cut and paste 2 views.

Interesting. I would have thought that the image would show things either (a) so tiny that they can't easily be read or (b) so large that they can be read but you would then need to use pgup/pgdn to view the full image.

Good luck with your web page. (If you're developing software for sale then good luck with your development efforts.)

If you simply want to post the project plan to the web, why don't you "save as" to an html file? This will give you the plan in a web ready format. Export to the standard template and you're there.

The gantt won't save as html. Only pdf. Many of the other views will saveas html, but not the gantt..
