I have a MM system MSS backend with 2MAS's. We are trying to use this for faxes as opposed to a fax server. I have maxed the size of my fax mailbox to 139minutes/66mbytes. I want to double this mail boxes size to 278minutes/132mbytes. Any ideas?

Pretty simple, either change your current Class of Service to give you more storage. (Be careful as there are most likely other ppl in you Class of Service).

You can also create a new COS for extensive fax storage then assign to your mailbox and others that require additional storage..

You can't exceed the COS limits of the system.

What rel are you on ? What encoding are you using?

Are you having problems with this mailbox filling up? If so why not make the DID number a hunt group and send the calls to more than one mailbox so it can distribute the faxes between 2 or 3 or more mailboxes.

Other than that have the person responsible for checking it do it more often and it would be easier if they used the Web Client to do so i would think.

by my calculations a mailbox set for 64 megabytes of storage will hold 1641 pages of faxing.

That would seem to me to be a fair amount

This is taking the place of 4 busy faxes. I wasn't sure if I could expand the factory default limit through the MAS. I ran some tests using 15 sheets 5 of which were jpeg's. It only took 2meg as the system stores a fax as a tiff file.

The bosses will need to realize the limits of the system.

Thanks all for the input.

What do you mean it only took 2 Meg? Do you mean that it was full at 2 Meg? or that that is the space it used?

Ken,

That was all it used. Seems like plenty of "head room" to me.
