Hi,

We're running CM R16x software and have an issue when dialing 911.

The calls go thru fine, but an incorrect location is displayed on the 911 call-center phones at the distant end.

Does my switch send out that name over the trunk group, or is the local provider inserting that name?

Where on the trunk group form can I check for this?

Thanks for your help.

On the trunk group form, send name, send calling number, is set to y. There is no name along-side the individual members of the trunk group.

Phoneguy55 is correct, your LEC can help you get this corrected. The information provided to E911 comes from 2 different databases, ANI and ALI. These 2 separate pieces of information are "married" when your call is answered by the 911 operator, so they can tell who you are (ANI) and where you are (ALI). Just curious, what type of trunk do you use to carry these calls, CO, T1 or PRI?

Mike

Why does the light always have to be at the end of the tunnel?

I'm not at work at the moment, but I beleive the trunk group is a PRI.

Thanks for your replies. I reported the problem to XO Comm. our service provider.
