Incorrect Memory reported by NT on Compaq Proliant ML370

I have two Compaq ML370 Proliant servers installed with
1 GIG of ram each but NT only reports 261 MB on the General tab under the System Properties icon as well as in the Task Manager. Compaq Insight Manager reports 1 GIG as well.It has NT4.0 with Service Pack 4 and was loaded with SmartStart 4.6...Urgent ....thanks in advance for your assistance !

Hi,

First of all it may be worth going to Service Pack 5, (I know there is 6a, but personally SP5 has proved less troublesome).

Also is the BIOS seeing all of the memory.???

This problem has been resolved by removing the /MEM:256 from the BOOT.INI file which was placed by NT Ent. Edition
when Compaq SmartStart is used to install. SP3 should have removed it but I only applied 4 and above which does not cater for removal.
