Incorrect Log On Parameters after 9th page

I've seen a lot of Incorrect Parameter posts when trying to run a report from the Crystal Server, but unless I've missed it, I've never seen someone with this error.

I run my report (Crystal Reports XI) from the CMC and it generates. I navigate through each page, but on page 10 I get the following error:
Error in file filename.rpt:
Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters.

If I had the wrong database log on information, why would it work for the first 9 pages? There are several subreports in the report and of course, it worked last month without any trouble.

The report is retrieving about 530 records, if that makes a difference.

Has anyone ever seen this or know of a resolution?

Please post your database type and connectivity.

You've probably answered your own question, one of the subreports is failing to log in.

Place text just before each subreport and I'll bet you'll find that when a certain subreport is about to fire, the error occurs.

Of course we can't help resolve this since we've no idea what database or connectivty was used, likely something changed for that database since last month.

Thanks synapsevampire, I'll try that out to see which subreport it is. What seems odd to me is that all the subreports are working up to page 9 and then on page 10 they fail.

I should also mention that if I run the report locally (not on the server), it runs without problems.

Oh and the connection is via ODBC to Oracle 9i, using the Microsoft driver, not Oracle's.

I believe that you should use the Oracle driver.

Not sure why you prefer ODBC, there's a native Oracle connection within Crystal (listed under other data sources as Oracle Server) which then eliminates the need for potentially problematic ODBC configuration, and is generally faster.

Another good tip is to install CR on the Crystal Server so that you can test from there as well, as CR gives more detailed error messages.

Hi I am creating a report and I need to add multiple parameters: first I need to be prompted to pull the users name then I need to another prompt to pull a specific date range.
I created a parameter to pull just the username, I do get the prompt but when I select the username I do not get the results I am looking for.

Please help!

Devild: Please start a new posting, this has nothing to do with this topic.

Create your parameters and then go into the Report->Selection Formula->Record and use the criteria, as in:

{table.field} = {?MyNameParameter}

Also note that posts should include the software version and the database being used.
