Hi All,

We have epo 3 installed on a W2K server and accessed by W2K and XP workstations, using a private domain. All the workstations had 4.5.1 installed and now some--not all--have been upgraded to 7.0.

One of the problems I have been unable to solve is an inconsistent dat file update of workstations. Some of the 7.0 workstations will update, some don't. Some of the 4.5.1 workstations update, some don't. The agent installed OK, all workstations respond when polled. There don't seem to be any trust problems that I can find anyway. I don't know what else to try, any ideas why this inconsistency occurs would be appreciated.

When I get an problem on a client I just map to it's C$ share and check the agent logs etc in the all users profile area. Quite a lot of info gets written here - there also seems to be a diagnostic logging mode you can turn on via policy but I haven't looked into this yet.

Thanks to NickFerrar and Lyf for the tips, I've been reading logs for about three hours. McAfee seems to feel that the problem involves our proxy server. I don't know, more study is needed. Anyway, your help is greatly appreciated.

I guess that would depend on if your repositories are setup via http or ftp or unc, and if you even use a proxy server...

Last cube on the left, next to the backdoor...
