any ideas?

thanks in advance

This happens when that specific file is being used by another application..

The best bet would be to exclude thes fiules using the filter option

Speshalyst So it Shall be Written!
So it Shall be Done!!

Some of the files causing this problem are:
"D:\exchsrvr\mtadata\db000001.dat"
these keep incresing in binary, so far up to
"...\db000048.dat"
Also,
"D:\exchsrvr\mtadata\DBREFS"

Are these files critical and to be backed up?
The only other folder/file in the mtadata folder is the:
"mtacheck.out" folder.
,which contains the:
"mtacheck.log"
Can I exclude using a filter, the whole "mtadata" folder from the backup?
Basically are the contents of the mtadata folder important for a restore of any kind?

thanks

Mark

You can safely exclude MTAdata from your backup job...

set an exclusion filter to exclude directory pattern

cheers

I understand about excluding files using filters.
I have been typing out the full path of the file or folder to exclude.
Can you explain how I would do this using directory pattern?

many thanks
