Incomming call route

Can someone describe the steps required to route calls made to a specific phone number(one near the bottom of our hunt group)to a specific extension.
I created a new line group in "incomming call routes" with the last 4 digits of the dialed phone number as the "incomming number" and the "destination" my extension, but it does not work.

Are you talking 1FL or T1/PRI? All you have to do if it is 1FL is make sure that the correct Line group (ID)# is populated in that field. Delete your last four digits and make sure you select your correct ext in Destination. Big thing is ensure that you have the correct line in your new Line Group.

It's PRI. The existing line group id is 5 with a blank incomming number. The new line group id is 6.

On PRI you don't seperate your channels into seperate line groups like you do with analog. Keep them all in line group 5. There is no direct relationship between your list of incoming numbers and the actual channels on the PRI.

How is this incoming number routed currently? All you should have to do is edit the destination field. It should still be line 5 in the incoming route, if you changed any of the channels on your PRI to be line group 6 change it back to 5.

The only time you would put two different linegroups to channels in the same PRI is if you've request the CO to reserve specific channels for specific incoming number, to guarantee you can get certain priority calls.

I think you're on to something Morrack.
I would like one of the numbers from the PRI to go directly to me. Could I just add another Incomming Call Route with the same group ID as the original (5) and add the destination and incomming number?

Or is there another way?

just add another incoming route:

set the incoming number to the specific ddi;
set the destination (huntgroup or extension)

normaly the linegroupID = 0 (you mentioned 5 but this is the linenumber)...

That is exactly what you would do. And yes make sure you mean linegroup. The line number is fixed and depends on where the PRI card is installed. The line group ID is variable and depends on how you set it up, the default as Arnoud mentioned is 0 but I often change it to 5 for clarity's sake, then change all my default dialout shortcodes to use 5 instead of 0. Personally I hate using 0 as an outgoing linegroup to avoid any chance of confusion when it comes to features that don't actually use a linegroup, but still are set to line group 0
