Please Help.

We have Exchange 5.5 and NT BackOffice Server.
I create new mailbox for new user, but he can only send emails, not receive.
Why?

Sorry for my broken english.

Could be for so many reasons.

1. Did you first create an logon account for the user for your domain?

2. Are you behind a firewall?

3. Check your non-delivery-reports (NDR). What do they say?

There could be many things. Check these though. If you don't have any luck with this, then right back.

Thanks for suggestions.

Of course I create an login account for user in my domain first.

I'm behind a firewall ... but other users are behind a firewall too and they can send and receive mail. Only a few users (last create) have problem with receive mail.

In Outlooks I use Microsoft Exchange Server service only.
Not Internet Mail.

Any suggestion ?

Erm... how's you licencing?

From the client machine, do a "telnet IPADDDRESSOFMAILSERVER 25"

See if you get a helo (sic) back.

If you do then, outlook (normal) should be cool.
If you don't get a helo back, then you have some kind of TCP connectivity or port 25 connectivity or security connectivty issue. So trouble-shoot!

I've had a similar problem like this.
If the account is a POP style Certain people in my company using exchange server mail were using a different dial-out account than others. Some dial out company require certain settings in the outbound inbound area. Maybe look into this.
