The last few days at around 1:30pm (coincidentally?) our San Francisco headquarters reported they cannot get thru to our office in Portland. They just get dead air, no ring, no busy. I checked with our phone co. - PRI looks fine, DIDs, lines all check fine. They did however find that 70 calls were attempted with 57 answered - so 13 blocked apparently by our system. Could our phone system here actually be failing? Not sure what to check for. Any ideas appreciated. I'm no expert with hardware.

Is it one # or a variety of #s not getting through?

Our main #, plus various DIDs - they tried at least 4.

Have the rec'd digits been entered properly for each target line?

Are the TLs assigned to the correct sets?

Do the calls ever get thru on those #s?

Does's the PRI protocol on the MICS match that of the telco?

How many digits is the telco sending? Does it match what's on the MICS?

If you haven't, set the prime set on the target lines in question, then set If Busy to Prime.

One way or another, any call presented on a PRI to a MICS should always ring somewhere, or busy as programmed. If the receive digits aren't recognized, the call should go to the prime set programmed on the channels. If you're getting dead air, I'd suspect a carrier issue.

for a problem like this I pull a SMDR-6 out to the site and capture the call data so you can see which phone/DN is actually causing the problem.

my suspicion is that there is an incomplete forward programmed somewhere, could be the telco is not delivering the call to you. SMDR will tell you that since you are talking PRI then you can ID the call with the caller id.
