Incoming Call Routes vs Users SIP details tab

I am configuring SIP trunk and SIP extensions.
I have DID for all the extensions.
Is the Incoming Call Routes enough to extension users to call outside?
Or should I fill users SIP tab? SIP name contact etc.
Why I am asking this is I tested without SIP details but got mix results. Not confident to propose this to customer.

incoming call routes would be my preferred option, it is easier to support.
user sip setting will then control outgoing number presentation

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear
