Patients: A few digital phones connected to the station LG-Nortel ipLDK-300

Problem: Time to time a speakerphone starts beeping. Like incoming call while you in the middle of another phone call. Beeping starts suddenly with no reason. If you peak up hand set there is normal line tone. But speaker keeps ringing. Only one decision we found yet is, to unplug the phone from the line and plug it buck, then speakerphone it stopped.

Questions: What can it be? How can I stop beeps?

Possible ways already made: We changed the phone on the brand new one but problem hadn’t solved with this. I didn’t found any mention for this problem in manual and our support cannot solve it because they have to wait near the phone for the whole time till it’s shows up again.

Looking forward for possible answer.

Thank you.

Dear VHaibulin

Please let me knoew the s/w version of the ipLDK-300 and the keyset type.
How many keyset phones does have this problem? Is it all users with keysets or only a part of the users?
Maybe these keysets are installed on the same board?

Hello and thanks for quick answer! ^^

s/w version: I cannot answer that question until Monday.

Keyset phones: The problem occurred only on keyset types phones. It’s not depends on the model of the keyset phone. Now all phones’s model is recommended keyset fone for use in user’s maual. I don’t remember the model which is one.

How many phones met with the problem: 5 top manager’s phones. On few of them it happened once, but one phone starts beeping at least for one time per day.

What does it mean: ‘keysets installed on the same board’? It is related with how the soft keys is programmed?

Thanks again. At the Monday I’ll try to answer about s/w version of the station.

Nice.
If the keyset are wired or installed on the same physical DTIB board, then this could be the source of "problem".

Did you check the setting for an "OK" keyset versus a "non-OK" keyset in PGM11+112+113+114?
Settings could be different, and could cause this problem.

Hi VHaibulin

An easy way to get the system software level from ipLDK 300.

From your keyset in the idel state.
Press Trans/PGM 72

the top line referes to the system type and software level.
Pick up the handset and put it back down to clear

Regards
Steve

I get on programm level from PC. I use PC admin software in order to manage the station. But I'm not advanced user yet. But thanks for advice of yours. =.)

1 s/w version of the station: GS30P-3.8Ah MAR/08

2 PGM11+112+113+114 Soft keys? Honestly, I didn't programmed any settings in these PGMs. All settings in default state. All the soft keys users personally programmed from phones. Could that affect the work of the station? Or may be I didn’t get this point clearly? Can you explain more particularly, where exactly I should make changes in settings, please?

Thank you

I came through user's guide on PGM111+112+113+114 DTMF has mentioned only once. In Keypad Facility chapter. trans/pgm+station range+flex6. An all key sets have the default setting DTMF and wasn't changed before. And I didn't change it as well.

One more similiar cause may be setting PGM 112 flex 15 'Stop Camp On'? I made setting in ON for the troubled key set number. It was in OFF before. But I'm not sure that is solved the problem at all.

What else can you advice for me?

Thank you.

Sorry, I was away for some time...

It can be cause by someone "playing" with page funtionality.
Paging can be internal, where you dial a code and all or a few keysets open their speaker and you can give a common message to these users.

It can also be caused by defective hardware.
To deal with this you could change PGM111 btn 11 (Speaker Phone/Headset) to OFF. I.e. disable the speaker in the keyset. So, if there is a call for the keyset, you cannot answer it by pressing MON, but you will have to use the handset.
Also try to change the PGM111 BTN 1.(Auto Speaker Selection)
Hope for success...

Thanks a lot! I did changes in PGM111 and'll ask the owner of keyset "is the problem appeared or not".

But if somehow someone is "playing" it could be worse.

Other specialists wrote me that there could be "wires problem". But I'm sure that the company who installed this station is professional enough to put cords between the station and keysets properly.

Line problems could be if you roll-up cables, because they are too long. This rolled-up line will act as an antenna, and can "drag" noise and hum into the phone system and keysets. So, check for rolled-up cables.

Ok. For the night time, may be I'll try to connect the keyset straight at the cross on the station and ask guardians if they'll notice the same symptoms or not.

Yeah. The trick with PGM111 didn't come through. User of keyset was a little bit disappointed with less functionality of His personal keyset. So I had to bring it back. But thanks any way. Now I know how to turn it on and off. =.)

I can understnd your comment on the "User of keyset".
I do not like headsets (headset mode) and "stuff like that"...

///doktor

Ok. I'm sorry and I wouldn't repeat any of "head set" anymore.

I have had similer problems in the past. The cause was determined to be interference on the floor cabling. When we replaced with a better quality cable, the issue was resolved.

Good Luck
