I have a customer with a G3SI, and have multiple DID's they want routed to non-matching extensions. In the trunk group form, there is only one page (18 entries) to modify. They have no pattern, so I cannot do 1 entry to replace/ insert. Anybody else out there have similar problems and a solution? Thanks

The carrier should be able to send you whatever digits you need per-number. It sounds like getting a new (closer matching) range of DIDs may be easier. -CL

I have a similar problem. Someone suggested (when I posed the question before) rather than manipulating the inbound digits in the trunk-group form, insert your AAR Feature Code and use AAR DIGIT MANIPULATION to route where you need to go.

Hope this helps.

Do you know when you posted this so I can follow the thread????

I did a search for my handle and couldn't find it. In fact, I only found 12 things and I know there are more than that that I've replied to and posted.

Anyway, it was about 3 weeks ago.

I agree with lopes on this.
If you can work with provider, ask them to send the digits you need. You might also request additional did numbers at the same time if you think you will be needing more in the future. If they are willing to work with you, its less work for you.

I agree, however the CO these DID's are coming form only has one block remaining....9900's. Not exactly the best scenario. Also, the customer has multiple extensio ranges so a basic delete/ insert in the trunk table will not work....each DID needs to be directed individualy. The LEC is torture to work with, so I don't see them cooperating with me from there end. I would like to find out the AAR method, but so far, can't grasp the theroy. Thanks for the input.

The DID numbners do not have to match the extensions.
What you want to do is ask the CO to do translations on the numbers and send you the digits that match your extensions
ie: xxx-0001 might translate to 3562
xxx-0002 might translate to 3548
the xxx numbers are the inbound (to the CO) did's and they would send the 4 digit ext number to you.

Robertmaj,

What is the ultimate goal? Why are they needing to redirect to the DID numbers to non-matching extensions? It's kind of an administrative mess, but might you be able to utilize a combination of phantom extensions, bridged appearances, and secondary extensions for Audix if necessary?

I've never thought of using AAR for this purpose, but I can see how it would work. At least I think I know.

Suppose your Did group is XXX-8XXX and the CO is sending 4 digits. For the sake of argument lets assume that the target locals are all over the map, but for the sake of simplicity, lets just look at 3 of them 5467, 3456, & 2345. You want XXX-8123 to translate to 5467, 8124 to 3456 & 8125 to 2345. You would assign 8 as the AAR access code in System parameters features form.

You would then use the AAR Digit conversion form. This is always checked before the AAR analysis form. As soon as the leading 8 is received this form would be referenced.

The form would look like this:

Match pattern Min Max Delete Repl String Net Conv

123 3 3 3 5467 Ext y
124 3 3 3 3456 Ext y
125 3 3 3 2345 Ext y

It would be prudent to strip any existing entries out of the AAR Analysis form.

I think this would probably work. If you want to try it, I would be real interested in knowing if it does and would appreciate an email to the address below if it does. Of course its dependent on the AAR not being used for anything else like toll access trunks in a hotel.
