Is there a way to designate a specific inbound calling number to display a certain way on our phones? Users are not answering calls from this particular number as they think it's a sales call. Ex:

555-123-4567 - inbound would display on our phones as "Help Desk" - possible?

yes can be done

The inbound number (VDN W/ VDN Override Y) should point to a vector the first step of the vector should say

go to step X if ANI in table Y

Step X should say route to nubmer (NEW VDN NUMBER (named Helpdesk) - should have VDN Override set to N - That VDN can point to hunt group or cover answer group etc-

To get the ANI in table Y -

Change VRT Y (1-99 i think) -
Add 555 123 4567 to this table and save

Should work for you.

Let me know if you have questions.

EC500 will also do this. Add a dummy station 1234 and name it Helpdesk then populate the EC500 screen:

change off-pbx-telephone station-mapping 8711 Page 1 of 2
STATIONS WITH OFF-PBX TELEPHONE INTEGRATION

Station Application Dial CC Phone Number Trunk Config
Extension Prefix Selection Set
1234 EC500 - 5551234567

-CL

The EC500 option is not working....unless I do not have all of the fields filled in properly.
